You can use one of the guitars from the wall as your prop. *A 6 th grader that had me as their teacher last year can help you if you need it. They need to have had me as their teacher (not Miss Fetcho)!
When you get the guitar off the wall, use 2 hands. Carry the guitar directly in front of you (vertically). When you hang your guitar at the end of class, make sure it isn’t moving when you walk away.
I tune the guitars everyday BEFORE you use them. You do NOT turn these pegs. If you do, I will know who is responsible because you have been assigned a guitar. If you choose to turn the pegs then you are permanently removed from music during guitar. You will unfortunately have to spend music class in the office completing an assignment to make up for your missed work in class.
Foot stools are the coffee cans in the front cabinet. The foot stools are not to be used as drums. You may use the footstool for only 1 foot. Sit up straight when you play. The guitar is held with the strings facing the teacher, not the ceiling!
If you traveled to England to have tea with the queen of England, she grabs her teacup by pinching the handle between her finger and thumb. You have to use the same type of pinch for the guitar. You have to use the tip of your finger on the strings, not the fat part of your finger.
I should not hear each string being played individually in 5 th grade (strumming chords). The strings should never be pulled or pushed to the side too far.
Rest position is lay the guitar in your lap-strings facing the ceiling. You should NEVER prop your guitar against the chair or lay them on the chair or floor. If you need to get up for any reason, hang your guitar up first. You ABSOLUTELY should NOT turn around in your guitar when you have your guitar with you.
